Nora took an early train to the small town of Vernon so she could transfer to a bus headed for Giverny in order to be there when Monet's gardens opened at 9:30 and see the water lilies still in bloom. In addition she wandered throughout his flower gardens, watched his chickens, and toured his home. At noon she returned to Vernon by bus.
