Nora took an early German highspeed German ICE train from Gare de l'Est to Strasbourg where she transferred to a local train to Colmar. She walked to the old town center for a late-breakfast fresh soft pretzel and then visited the Dominican church to see the Madonna of the Rose Bush painting. She then followed the stream to the main Cathedral and saw the lepers' door. and continued on to "Little Venice" and shopped in the covered market. She toured further via a flat-bottomed boat that barely cleared under the low bridges, and spotted a nutria in the woods. While she ventured to within a mile of the German border it was too hot to walk to it and cross. She visited many of the town's shops before heading back on a TGV to Paris that was delayed for an hour just prior to the station because of a problem with a train in front of it.
