Today was Nora's last full day in Paris. She began the morning with a walk through the local fruit vendor's market and to the western tip of the Ile de la Cite for breakfast in the park. After breakfast a walk along the fundament and under the Pont Neuf to Notre Dame Cathedral and a look at its Treasury preceded a walk to the Right Bank and a quick visit to the church of Stain Gervais and Saint Protais from which she heard acapella music as a part of a Mass. She stopped at the Stravinsky Fountain near the Pompidou Center to see the lips from French in Action. A quick trip to Place de la Republique to see the graffiti celebrating free speech and an ad hoc memorial to the lives of the recent victims of terrorism was followed by a visit to David's childhood friend in his salon. Early afternoon began with a stop at Galeries Lafayette where she visited each level and the rooftop garden to take in the view of Paris for a final time this trip. Lunch followed at a cafe near Square Trinite d'Estienne d'Orves where we learned of the priest's killed near Rouen. That afternoon she visited the gruesome relics at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal followed by a visit to the Jesuit church of St. Ignatius Loyala. In the evening she walked to Shakespeare and COmpany and bought a book (The Diary of a Young Girl) and ate chocolates from a fancy confectioner prior to enjoying a light dinner in the room.
